meta ads in ghana, where to start

To start advertising on Facebook and Instagram in Ghana, pick one goal per campaign, make ads for the phone screen rather than resizing a poster, send people where they already want to talk, usually WhatsApp, and test a few versions before putting real budget behind the one that works. Then judge it against the goal you set, not against likes. That is how we run campaigns at Creat.ing in Accra, for brands like INGCO Ghana, Fairway and Shogun.

One goal per campaign

Meta asks you to choose an objective when you build a campaign, and the choice matters: it decides who the ads are shown to. A campaign for awareness finds people who will watch; a campaign for messages finds people who will write; a campaign for sales finds people who will buy. Ask one campaign to do all three and it does none of them well.

So write the goal in a sentence first. More people in the restaurant this month. Enquiries for the apartments. Stock moving before the end of the quarter. Then choose the objective that matches it.

Make the ad for the feed

People scroll past anything that looks like an advert in the first second. The ads that work look like they belong in the feed: vertical, real people and real products, movement early, and the point made before the sound comes on, because most people watch with it off.

That is why we shoot for the ad rather than borrowing from the last brochure. For INGCO Ghana, the content shows the work the tools actually do, which is a better argument for a drill than any price tag.

Send people where they want to talk

In Ghana, most customers would rather send a WhatsApp message than fill in a form. Meta lets an ad open a WhatsApp chat with your business directly, and for restaurants, property, services and retail that is often the shortest path from interest to a sale.

Whatever the destination, someone has to be there. An ad that brings fifty messages nobody answers until tomorrow has bought fifty disappointed people. Decide who answers before the campaign starts.

Test before you scale

Start with a few versions of the ad: a different opening, a different image, a different offer. Run them side by side on a modest budget, see which one brings the result you set as the goal, and only then put serious spend behind it. Then keep watching, because an ad that works in week one often tires by week four.

Plan around the moments that matter

Campaigns work best when they have a reason: an opening, a launch, an anniversary, a season. Fairway's 9 & Thriving was an anniversary campaign, with the seasonal calendar built around it. Shogun's launch built a following from nothing for a restaurant nobody had heard of. A reason to act now does more for an ad than a bigger budget.

Read the results against the goal

Every campaign produces a lot of numbers, and the comfortable ones, likes and reach, are rarely the ones that pay. Judge a campaign by the goal it was given:

  • Awareness: how many of the right people saw it, and how many watched.
  • Traffic: clicks and messages, and what happened after them.
  • Leads: how many enquiries came in, and how many your team could actually follow up.
  • Sales: where they can be tracked, what the campaign brought in against what it cost.

What you pay, and to whom

There are two parts. The ad spend goes to Meta and stays yours: it is what buys the audience. The agency fee covers planning the campaign, making the ads and managing them while they run. Keep them separate in any proposal you are sent, so you always know how much of the money reached the audience.

How much to spend depends on the audience and the goal. A good proposal recommends a starting budget, then scales what works rather than spending it all on day one.

The questions we get

Usually both, from one campaign: Meta places the ads across Facebook and Instagram where they perform. The creative matters more than the platform split.

Yes. Meta ads can open a WhatsApp conversation with your business directly, which suits restaurants, property, services and retail in Ghana well.

Boosting is the simplest form of advertising, and fine for a single post. A campaign built in Meta's Ads Manager gives you the objective, the audience, testing and reporting a real campaign needs.

It should not be. At Creat.ing the ad spend goes to Meta or Google and stays yours; our fee covers planning, making and managing the campaigns.

Yes. Google search ads reach people already looking for what you sell, and display ads extend a campaign beyond Meta.
